One thing you will not receive when training at Skill of Strength is a run-of-the-mill personal training experience. We provide a consultation and full evaluation for every new personal training client, including MMA Fighters.
During the initial meeting we discuss injury history, training history, medical history, goals, nutrition and the general lifestyle of the figther. Next, each fighter is evaluated using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to uncover imbalances and weaknesses. The FMS is an exercise philosophy and corresponding set of resources based on sound science, years of innovation, and current research, created by world-renowned doctors and physical therapists.
Once establish a baseline of movement using the FMS and other musculoskeletal assessments, we are able to identify which exercises to use in your personal training sessions that will be most effective in helping restore proper movement and how to best prepare for your fight if that’s the goal. We periodically reassess clients to track their progress.
We develop a personal training program designed to meet each individual’s specific needs. Each 30 minute or 60 minute personal training session covers a combination of the following: soft tissue, mobility, flexibility, muscle activation, strength training, and conditioning.
If you can’t train with us, having us design your program is the next best thing. We will give you a program every 5 weeks and peak you for your next fight!
All programs are designed on a 5-week basis for a fee.
